Product Description:

Cerazette is a type of progestogen-only contraceptive pill (also known as the "mini-pill"). It contains desogestrel as its active ingredient, a synthetic hormone that works to prevent pregnancy. Unlike combined oral contraceptives, Cerazette does not contain estrogen and is suitable for women who cannot take estrogen for medical reasons. It is taken daily and works by thickening the cervical mucus to prevent sperm from reaching an egg, and by suppressing ovulation.

Benefits:

  • Effective Contraception: Cerazette is a reliable form of contraception, offering protection against pregnancy when taken correctly.
  • No Estrogen: Ideal for women who are unable to take estrogen-containing contraceptives due to health issues such as blood clot risk, breastfeeding, or other contraindications.
  • Regulates Menstrual Cycles: Can help regulate periods or stop menstruation in some women.
  • Non-Interfering with Sex: Does not require any action during sexual intercourse, unlike barrier methods (e.g., condoms).
  • Improved for Certain Health Conditions: Cerazette can be beneficial for women with conditions such as endometriosis or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), as it may help manage symptoms.

Usage Instructions:

  1. Start of Treatment: Begin taking Cerazette on the first day of your period to ensure immediate contraception. Alternatively, start on another day, but use additional contraception (like condoms) for the first 7 days.
  2. Dosage: Take one tablet every day at the same time, without a break. The tablets should be taken in the correct order as indicated on the pack.
  3. Missed Dose: If you forget to take a tablet and it’s been less than 12 hours since the scheduled time, take it as soon as you remember. If it's been more than 12 hours, the contraceptive protection may be reduced, and you should use additional contraception (such as condoms) for the next 7 days.
  4. Continual Use: After finishing one pack, start the next pack the next day without any breaks. There is no need for a break between packs.
  5. Consult Your Doctor: If you experience any side effects or health concerns while taking Cerazette, consult your healthcare provider.
